The month of July is important to all club members as it is the final chance to reach the semi finals with 4 or 5 rounds to go for the teams under 10 to over 35’s. The month of July is also a busy one with many social and fundraising events occurring.
MFC TRIVIA NIGHT: Sunday 18th July at Grumpys Hotel at Hurlstone Park starting at 7.00pm. The cost is $10.00 per person with groups of 4-10 people. Prizes for first, second and third teams. Ticket reservation will be taken on wednesday nights at canteen or on the weekend at canteen. We hope to see you there, having a fun night away from soccer and raising some money for the club. CALL TO ARMS MENS CANCER: Saturday 17th July & Sunday 18th July. In support of cancer awareness we will be holding a yellow ribbon day over the weekend of 17th july and 18th july. Every team from the 10’s up to the seniors will be wearing a yellow arm band with each player, coaches and managers making a gold coin donation. We all know someone who had or has cancer so please support the cancer council.More info will be distributed to coaches and managers via email. PHOTO DAY: SATURDAY 24TH JULY & SUNDAY 25TH JULY. The club will try again and hope that it doesnt rain. Details to be advised once the competition draw is available. The cost is $15.00 for team photo or $20.00 for team photo and portrait sheet. Weather permitting we ask that all players turn up for their team photo as we anticipating displaying all team photos next year in our new club room at MACKEY PARK. We will provide coaches and managers with new envelopes for the collection of monies.
NRMA MOTORSERVE: Sunday 31st July. NRMA Motoserve is sponsoring the club through way of Rebel vouchers totalling $3,000. On sunday 31st July they will be promoting the local NRMA Motorserve, providing players with vouchers for player of the match and running a bbq. Remember the date and play fair!!
ASSOCIATION NEWS: Catch up games are still being scheduled for under 10’s to seniors. The club will inform you of these fixtures and we ask that coaches and managers check the association website for the draw. Please remember to put in the date instead of round as many rounds will have mixed games(catchups).
Please ring Marrickville Council Wet Weather line (9335 2299 after 2pm) if you are unsure as to training at tempe reserve on tuesday, wednesday and thursday nights. if grounds are closed on weekends we will try and contact the away teams asap but everyone should be checking our website and association website for prompt response.
The semi finals will commence the ist week of August for those lucky teams. Good Luck to everyone and GO THE RED DEVILS!!!!
The Gala Day for under 8 and under 9 will be 21st August. We will inform you closer to the date of the venues and times.
MACKEY PARK UPDATE: The playground is near completion; the amenities block is underway; the pathway and light towers has been removed; The park is being removed. Fingers crossed everyone.
