2009: MFC recommends that all coaches and managers read the CDSFA Rules 2009, then print a copy and carry it with you to all games.
MFC supports the junior referee program!
Junior Referee Scheme:
We support junior referees to ref u6 to u9 games. Junior refs (and the spectators) are supervised by a club official/groundsman and paid by the home team. Junior Refs wear a yellow ‘in Training” vest as part of the Department of Sport and Recreation “I’m in yellow, so don’t see red!” initiative. If you are interested in being a junior ref and are aged 13 or over, contact the club. Email: ref@marrickvillefc.org.au
Zero Tolerance Policy:
There is a zero tolerance policy towards violence on the soccer field. This policy can also be downloaded from the Canterbury District Soccer Football Association (CDSFA) website in pdf format. We promote the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation’s policy of keeping sport fun and fair. Sports Rage brochures are included in the coaches and managers kits and available from the clubhouse. You can download them in .pdf form from our Resource page.
Junior Sport Codes of Conduct:
Canterbury District Soccer Football Association (CDSFA) has adopted the Junior Sport Codes of Conduct from the Australian Sports Commission. The Code is on the wall in the clubhouse, Mackey Park in Marrickville and given to every coach and manager. You can download the Codes of Conduct from our Resource page. Everymember of the club is expected to behave in accordance with this code. Read it!
SSG Rollout for 2009:
- U6s and 7s play 4 or 5 a side on a very mini field (non competitive).
- 8s play 7 a side on a mini field (non competitive).
- 9s and 10s play 9 a side competitive games on a half size field.
- 11s and 12s play 11 a side on a full size field until SSGs are fully rolled out over next 2 years.

Coaches & Managers:
All are welcome to attend the regular coaches and managers meetings at the clubhouse where information and resources are shared. Junior coaching courses are arranged each year by the Canterbury District Soccer Football Association (CDSFA).
The recommended text for junior coaches is “Coaching Junior Soccer” by Denis Ford. You can also purchase a 2 DVD coaching set from the SBS series Football Stars of Tomorrow from Soccer NSW.
