    27 February 2010

Season 2010 is underway and I will attempt to bring you up to date with all the information relating to Marrickville ‘Red devils’ FC and our move to Tempe reserve for season 2010.

Let me begin by saying that registrations for this season are up in numbers compared to season 2009. As of Friday 26 /2/10 just over 850 players, coaches and managers have registered. This figure has been achieved by the dedicated management committee and registrars, who have worked tirelessly over only 4 registration days! (Two Sunday and 2 Wednesdays) . Registrations have now closed and only those teams that require additional players will be open for further registrations ( see web notices for teams seeking players) . Players who have not paid their registration fees by 17 March 2010 will not be issued with ID card for round 1(first weekend after Easter).

Team grading has been very successful with only the U11s to be finalized by next Tuesday - U11 players and coaches to be at Tempe fields Tuesday 2 March 6,30pm. Grading sheets for all teams (* except u6 and u7) must be in and completed by Wednesday 3rd March 2010. Give registrar your team list and requested division no later than this date. The committee will then meet Thursday 4th March to finalize and forward completed grading sheets to cdsfa. Team lists and requested division must be received by cdsfa by Saturday 6 March. We appreciate your assistance (coaches and managers) in this request. And once grading has been completed, normal training, trial matches will take place from 17 March Tempe reserve. Times TBA

Allocation of training equipment, issuance of socks, sales of shorts etc will also take place once grading has been finalized by cdsfa (TBA).

The management committee is fully aware of the complications arising from the transfer to Tempe from Mackey- relating to canteen size and state of fields. We are in constant discussion with council and we will keep club members informed. We do ask that you bear with us over the next 4 -5 weeks as this period of the season is very time consuming and busy for the committee, coaches and managers.

The Dulwich Hill Academy is nearing completion with teams in first division in u8, u9, u10,and u12 (2 teams) for season 2010.

We are pleased to advise that GOL Sports Store Earlwood has come on board again, and that First National Real Estate Marrickville will sponsor u6 and u7 teams in season 2010. Please support these businesses and let them know you are a red devil! The club greatly appreciates their valued support. We are still to hear from Sydney Airport Corp. but we anticipate their assistance in 2010.

The u6 and U7 kick off their season on Satudary20 March at Tempe reserve at 10am. (Check website for updates http://marrickvillefc.org.au ). Damian Hadley is looking forward to another successful season.

Regarding Mackey Park – Infrastructure work will commence in March with diggings on field from June to July and anticipate completion in Dec. 2010. We look forward to returning to Mackey Park in 2011.

In completion, please watch website for further information or contact club officials, coaches, managers as we do not have a clubroom for season 2010.

The Marrickville Football Club would like to thank Newtown Jets Sports Club for their valuable assistance over the last month during the hectic registration period.
