Francis Awaratife in action for Marrickville FC o35s

MACKEY Park in Marrickville hosted some big names in soccer last weekend with former Socceroos star Francis Awaritefe taking to the field.
Awaritefe, who was born in Nigeria and grew up in England, played his first game for the Red Devils over-35s team on Saturday.
He played for West Ryde last season and has signed with the Devils this year.
The team won 2-1 against Hurlstone Park in what club president Ron Royston described as a “very skilful game”.
A small crowd watched as the visitors scored in the first 10 minutes. The Devils picked up their game in the second half, scoring two goals.
“It was a good start to the season,” Mr Royston said.
